Elden Ring Nightreign: No Poison Swamps, Possible Two-Player Mode
From Software's upcoming cooperative title, Elden Ring Nightreign, will notably omit the series' signature poisonous swamps, a feature championed by From Software head Hidetaka Miyazaki. This was confirmed by product manager Yasuhiro Kitao. While a swamp-like area was shown in the trailer, Kitao clarified it's a distinct location. Miyazaki's absence from Nightreign's development accounts for the omission, as he's known for his fondness of incorporating swamps into games like Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series.

Interestingly, a two-player mode, initially excluded due to balancing concerns, is now under consideration. Currently, only one-player and three-player modes are confirmed. From Software is evaluating the feasibility of adding a two-player option before the game's release.
Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for release on May 30, 2025, for PC and current and next-gen consoles.
