Genshin Impact Leak Hints at Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4
A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's highly anticipated return in Genshin Impact Version 5.4, ending a year-long wait since his debut. This news comes amidst ongoing challenges for Genshin Impact in balancing its extensive roster of over 90 playable characters with limited rerun slots on Event Banners. The current system struggles to provide fair and timely reruns for all characters.
While the Chronicled Banner was introduced to mitigate this issue, it's viewed by many as a temporary solution. Shenhe's lengthy wait time (over 600 days) before her rerun highlights this ongoing problem. Until the implementation of triple banners, extended wait times between character reruns are likely to persist.
Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, has been absent from Event Banners since November 8, 2023. His unique Cryo hypercarry capabilities and strong performance in Burnmelt teams make him a highly sought-after character. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, indicates his return in Version 5.4.
However, it's crucial to approach this information cautiously. Flying Flame's track record regarding Natlan leaks has been inconsistent. While their prediction of a new Chronicled Banner in Version 5.3 proved accurate, other leaks have been inaccurate. The recent Spiral Abyss buff favoring Wriothesley's playstyle lends some credibility to the rumor.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to feature Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If the leak holds true, Wriothesley and Mizuki might share an Event Banner, with the other half potentially featuring Furina or Venti, the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4's projected release date is February 12, 2025.
