While fishing might seem like a leisurely pastime, it plays a crucial role in this particular achievement. It unlocks a unique questline, providing you with the necessary equipment. To begin, you must progress through Kanya's fishing quests. This involves completing several side quests, each requiring you to gather specific items for her:
Seeking the Goldenfish: Locate the Goldenfish in underwater pools within caves. Area 6 of the Scarlet Forest is a good starting point. Use either the Golden Bughead or Common Wood Minnow baits. Fallow weather conditions increase your chances of finding it.
Fishing for Favor: Next, catch the Gravid Bowfin. The Scarlet Forest base camp offers a convenient location, but you'll need "Plenty" weather conditions. Equip the Emerald Jitterbait and cast your line.
The Catch of a Lifetime!: Now, Kanya tasks you with catching any large fish that triggers the reeling minigame. The Tuna in Area 17 of the Scarlet Forest is a reliable option.
After completing these quests, Kanya will request you to undertake the "Razzle Dazzle" quest. This is where you'll finally obtain the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy/achievement:
