Pokemon GO Fashion Week: Remote Raid Passes in Shadow Raids!
This Fashion Week: Taken Over event in Pokemon GO marks a significant change: for the first time, remote raid passes are enabled for Shadow Raids! This limited-time opportunity allows trainers to catch powerful Pokemon with enhanced IV stats without needing to be physically present.
The event runs from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time, encompassing one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids. This includes a special Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day on January 19th (2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. local time), offering increased shiny Shadow Ho-Oh encounter rates and the chance to teach it Sacred Fire. Furthermore, Charged TMs can be used to remove Frustration from captured Shadow Pokemon.
While this is a temporary feature—remote raid passes will be unavailable in Shadow Raids after the event concludes—it addresses a long-standing player request since Shadow Raids launched in 2023. The community has previously voiced concerns about the in-person requirement for challenging raids, making this trial run a potentially positive step. Whether this becomes a permanent feature remains to be seen.
