People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta

Author : Peyton Apr 24,2025

People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day, has inked a new deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring us a fresh title dubbed Project Delta. This collaboration is structured as a work-for-hire agreement, although specifics about Project Delta remain under wraps for now.

Currently, People Can Fly is juggling an impressive array of projects, each with its own intriguing codename. Alongside Project Delta, they're working on Project Gemini in partnership with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw a reduction of 30 developers last year. There's also Project Echo with Krafton, and Project Red, which also appears to be connected to Sony. The studio recently announced that Project Bison, their VR endeavor, will be their last venture into virtual reality.

The studio faced some challenges recently, having to suspend work on Project Victoria last December and scaling down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they made the tough decision to cancel Project Dagger, an action-adventure game developed in collaboration with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these setbacks, People Can Fly remains busy with a total of eight known projects in development. This includes the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition, though a release date for this title hasn't been announced yet. On the other hand, Project Gemini, their collaboration with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
