Unraveling the Mystery of "Bad Blood" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers a wealth of side quests, many enriching the game's narrative and character development. This guide details how to initiate and complete the "Bad Blood" quest.

Starting the Quest:

Progress through the main questline until you're free to explore the game world and tasked with finding Mutt. This leads you to a clearing near Bozhena's hut. Speaking with Bozhena about Mutt reveals her daughter Pavlena's disappearance, triggering the "Bad Blood" quest.

Gathering Information:

  1. Troskowitz Investigation: Interview Baliff Thrush and Innkeeper Betty in Troskowitz to gather background information on Bozhena and Pavlena and their strained relationship with the village.

  2. Woodcutter's Clues: Speak with Woodcutter Dushko, who directs you to Roman's house. (Note: Lockpicking is required to enter Roman's house.)

  3. Roman's House: Examine Pavlena's basket and speak again with Dushko for further guidance. He'll lead you to a clearing, a favorite spot for Roman and Pavlena.

  4. The Crime Scene: Follow the blood trail to discover Roman's body. Interview Hogherd Hugo and then Hired Hand Straw (requires a successful dialogue check). Straw reveals Jakesh's involvement and the truth behind the events. You can also speak with Thrush to decide how to handle Straw.

Confronting Ota:

Ota and Pavlena

Locate Ota and Pavlena in the designated area, navigating around a large boulder and climbing a ladder. High Charisma is beneficial for dialogue checks. The following options persuade Ota to release Pavlena:

  • "What's your name?"
  • "Let her go and I'll let you go."
  • "I'll put in a good word for you with His Lordship."

Pavlena will subsequently kill Ota. Return to Bozhena with Pavlena.

Kill Jakesh or Make Peace:

Jakesh at his child's grave

Find Jakesh at his child's grave. You can choose to kill him or attempt reconciliation with him and Bozhena. Killing Bozhena is also a possible (though arguably less satisfying) conclusion. The quest ends regardless of your choice.

Consequences of Your Actions:

  • Killing Jakesh: Decreases your reputation in Troskowitz but significantly improves your standing with Bozhena and Pavlena. You'll unlock a new dialogue option with Pavlena and receive a necklace as a reward.

  • Sparing Jakesh: Jakesh rewards you with 100 groschen. You can keep the money or share it with Bozhena. Bozhena and Pavlena are allowed back into the settlement.

This completes the "Bad Blood" quest. Consult other resources, like The Escapist, for additional tips and information on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
