Pokémon GO enthusiasts, get ready for a delightful new event called Sweet Discoveries, where the adorable Applin makes its grand entrance into the game. This event is a must-attend for those passionate about collecting new Pokémon and hunting for shiny variants. Let's dive into everything you need to know about this sweet event.
When Is Applin Debuting in Pokémon GO?
Mark your calendars! The Sweet Discoveries event kicks off on April 24th at 10:00 a.m. and continues until April 29th at 8:00 p.m. The highlight is undoubtedly the debut of Applin, a charming Grass and Dragon-type Pokémon hailing from the Galar region.
To evolve Applin into Flapple, you'll need 200 Applin Candies and 20 Tart Apples. If you're aiming for Appletun, the requirements are 200 candies and 20 Sweet Apples. For the final evolution into Dipplin and then Hydrapple, the journey continues from there.
A crucial part of evolving Applin involves the Apples, which you can find in the wild. Tapping on them might reward you with a Tart Apple, a Sweet Apple, or even Applin itself. Your chances of encountering Apples increase when using Mossy Lure Modules.
Did You Know?
Applin is a unique Pokémon that spends its entire life inside an apple, cleverly disguising itself from bird Pokémon, its natural enemies. It's one of the cutest additions to the Pokémon GO roster.
During the Sweet Discoveries event, you can snag some new avatar items from the shop, including the Applin Headband and Applin Apron. Plus, enjoy the event bonus of 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
Keep an eye out for Shiny Delibird and Shiny Skwovet, as there's a higher chance of encountering them in the wild. You'll also have an increased chance of hatching Shiny Delibird, Shiny Cherubi, and Shiny Skwovet from 7 km Eggs.
Another sweet perk of the event is that catching Delibird or Skwovet will result in them dropping berries. If you haven't yet, download Pokémon GO from the Google Play Store and join the fun.
