In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, Sharp Fangs are essential crafting resources that you can start collecting early in the game. These valuable items are crucial for forging beginner-tier gear sets like Chatacabra and Talioth armor. To help you gather Sharp Fangs efficiently, here’s a comprehensive guide on how to find and farm them in the Windward Plains.

To embark on your Sharp Fang farming journey, take on one of the initial optional quests such as “Beware the Chatacabra” or “The Desert is Demanding.” These quests will transport you to the Windward Plains with a generous 50-minute time limit. Before setting out, consider cooking and eating a meal to boost your performance.

Once you arrive, head east to Area 8, the largest area on the map, where you'll encounter various smaller monsters. While multiple monsters can drop Sharp Fangs, focusing on the Gaijos will yield the best results.

Gaijos

Gaijos, small leviathan monsters resembling crocodiles with unique snouts, are commonly found near or in riverbeds, typically alone. You can locate them by scanning for purple diamonds on the interactive map near water sources.

Approach a Gaijos location and use your weapon to quickly defeat them. They have less health compared to other monsters, making them easy targets. After defeating a Gaijos, carve its carcass to obtain 1 x Sharp Fang. Gaijos are guaranteed to drop Sharp Fangs, making them the prime target for farming. Upon entering the Windward Plains, you can find around four to five Gaijos. To farm more, simply re-enter via any Windward Plains optional quest.

Another monster in the Windward Plains that can drop Sharp Fangs, though not guaranteed, is the Talioth. These bipedal creatures roam in small packs in Area 8 and occasionally in Area 13. They are slightly tougher than Gaijos but manageable with starter weapons.

While carving Talioth carcasses, you might receive Talioth Scales, but there's also a chance to obtain Sharp Fangs. Additionally, hunting Talioths can help you complete the “The Desert is Demanding” quest, which requires you to kill 8 x Talioths.
