Atomfall: New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, plunges players into an alternate 1960s England devastated by nuclear war. A recently released gameplay trailer offers a detailed look at the game's core mechanics.
The trailer showcases exploration of diverse environments, including quarantine zones, villages, and research bunkers. Survival hinges on resource scavenging, crafting, and combat against robotic and cultist enemies. Expect a blend of melee and ranged combat, with weapon upgrades adding depth to the experience.
Initially revealed during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall initially flew under the radar compared to titles like Gears of War: E-Day and Perfect Dark. However, its inclusion in Xbox Game Pass from day one generated significant interest.
This latest seven-minute trailer provides a more substantial glimpse into gameplay. Players will navigate hazardous environments, gathering resources to craft essential items such as healing supplies, Molotov cocktails, and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden caches.
While the weaponry initially shown (cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle) appears relatively standard, the trailer emphasizes upgrade possibilities and hints at a broader arsenal to discover. Furthermore, a skill tree system allows players to invest in upgrades across four categories: melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning.
Atomfall launches March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. Rebellion plans to release an additional in-depth video soon.
