Metro 2033's "Cursed" Mission: A Comprehensive Guide
Despite its age, Metro 2033 remains a fan favorite, especially after the release of Metro Awakening. This guide focuses on the challenging "Cursed" mission, often confusing for players due to unclear objectives and the station's layout. This mission begins after the railcar journey to Turgenevskaya station (the Cursed Station).
Locating the Bomb
After reaching the defenders by the barricaded escalators, they'll explain a missing explosives crew. Your task: find and detonate the bomb. Nosalises will attack relentlessly. Retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed – expect to do this at least once. The bomb is located at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows; they'll damage you. Once you have the bomb, either proceed to the adjacent tunnel or retreat if necessary.
Destroying the Tunnel
To detonate the bomb, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective) and wait for the cutscene. Artyom will plant and light the fuse; escape immediately to avoid the blast. Alternatively, a grenade or pipe bomb in the same tunnel area will achieve the same result. Note: Nosalises will still enter through other routes.
Destroying the Airlock
A further objective involves destroying an airlock. Ascend the stairs on the right to the torchlit area. Ignore the nosalises. Interact with the support columns to plant a pipe bomb; evacuate immediately after lighting the fuse. With both entrances destroyed, proceed with Khan to the shrine room and the next mission, "Armory."
