Pokémon Legends: Z-A – August 15, 2025 Release Date Leak
A potential release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A has surfaced online, pointing towards an August 15, 2025 launch. This date, initially spotted on Amazon UK in early January 2025 and quickly removed, aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.
Initially unveiled during the 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations in February, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is anticipated as a sequel to the 2022 title, Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The game, following the exploration-focused style of its predecessor, is expected to prioritize Pokémon collection over traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League. Since its announcement, official details have been scarce.
The Amazon UK listing leak, first highlighted by content creator Light88, briefly displayed the August 15th date before reverting to a December 31st placeholder. The August date, however, fits within the previously announced release timeframe.
February 2025 Confirmation Possible
The legitimacy of the leaked date remains unconfirmed. However, a formal announcement is highly likely soon. Similar to its initial reveal during Pokémon Day 2024, the official release date could be unveiled during the 2025 Pokémon Day event, scheduled for February 27th (the anniversary of the original Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Green). This date has been corroborated by recent findings from a Pokémon GO dataminer.
Beyond the release date, fans anticipate a gameplay reveal, potentially debuting alongside the release date announcement during the Pokémon Day 2025 presentation.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A, initially confirmed as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to backward compatibility. While past mainline Pokémon games have featured paid DLC, Pokémon Legends: Arceus only received one free post-launch update, "Daybreak."
