Relic Entertainment, the masterminds behind Company of Heroes, are diving into a new, smaller-scale turn-based strategy game titled **Earth vs. Mars**. Scheduled for release this Summer on PC via Steam, this game brings an innovative twist to the genre by challenging players to defend Earth from a Martian invasion using unique "bizarre and powerful creature-human hybrids" crafted with the Splice-O-Tron. Imagine deploying a Squirrel-Cow, Human-Rhino, or Cheetah-Fly in your battles, inspired by the tactical gameplay of the Nintendo DS classic, Advance Wars.
The narrative unfolds with Martians who have been clandestinely visiting Earth for decades, abducting humans and animals to harvest their atomic essence. Now, they've launched a full-scale invasion, and it's up to a diverse group of Earth commanders to lead the resistance. Players will take charge of Earth's military forces, facing off against the advanced Martian technology including saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien warriors in a gripping fight for survival.

**Earth vs. Mars** offers a robust gaming experience with a 30+ mission single-player campaign, online multiplayer where players can choose to fight as either Earth or Mars, a VS Mode to test your skills against the game's AI, and a map editor for those who love to customize their gameplay.
Justin Dowdeswell, CEO of Relic Entertainment, shared his enthusiasm, stating, "We are excited to bring a Relic Twist to the Advance Wars style of gameplay, infusing some Relic DNA, while harkening back to some of our earlier titles." He also highlighted Relic's new strategy, which involves continuing to develop traditional RTS titles while also exploring smaller indie-style games. This approach aims to experiment with new sub-genres, keep creativity flowing, and release games more frequently. If you're intrigued, you can wishlist **Earth vs. Mars** on Steam.
