Deck the Halls of Xion: Holiday Cheer in Stellar Blade
Shift Up is spreading holiday spirit across Xion starting December 17th. New Christmas-themed costumes, decorations, and a mini-game await!
Eve and other characters sport festive new outfits:
- Santa Dress (Eve)
- Rudolph Pack (Drone)
- I’m No Santa (Adam)
Complete Eve's look with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
Festive Xion and a New Mini-Game
Xion transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with warm lights and festive decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive the holiday treatment, complemented by new seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away").
A new mini-game adds to the festivities. While details are scarce, it involves targeting a holiday drone for special rewards.
Control Your Festive Fun: Enabling and Disabling Seasonal Content
The update introduces options to manage seasonal content, including the Nier:Automata DLC. Navigate to Settings > Gameplay > Seasonal Event Content to select:
- Auto: Automatically enables/disables based on the season.
- Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
- Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.
Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart from your last save.
Mixed Reception: A Celebration with Concerns
Following the December 16th announcement, the update received mostly positive feedback, with many fans embracing "Christmas Eve." However, some questioned the frequency of event updates for a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The requirement to restart the game to fully enjoy seasonal content also drew criticism.
Unlike many games with seasonal content, Stellar Blade's single-player nature necessitates restarting to fully experience the updates.
