WPSApp

Application Description

Ever wondered about the security of your WiFi network? WPSApp is here to help you check just that, focusing specifically on the WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) protocol. This handy tool uses the WPS protocol, which typically allows connection to a WiFi network using an 8-digit pin. However, a significant issue arises because many routers have pins that are either known or can be easily calculated, making them vulnerable to unauthorized access.

WPSApp leverages various known pin generation algorithms and default pins to test your network's security. It also calculates default keys for some routers, displays WiFi passwords stored on your device, scans devices connected to your network, and analyzes WiFi channel quality. Using WPSApp is straightforward: when scanning nearby networks, you'll see networks marked with a red cross, indicating "secure" networks where WPS is disabled and the default password is unknown.

Networks marked with a question mark have WPS enabled, but the pin is unknown. In such cases, WPSApp lets you test the most common pins. Networks with a green tick are likely vulnerable, with WPS enabled and a known pin. Alternatively, if WPS is disabled but the password is known, these networks also appear in green, and you can connect using the key.

Please note that to access certain features, such as viewing passwords and connecting on Android 9/10, you need to be a Root user. Keep in mind that not all networks are vulnerable, and even if WPSApp indicates vulnerability, it's not a 100% guarantee. Several router manufacturers have updated their firmware to address these vulnerabilities.

If your network shows as vulnerable, take action: disable WPS and set a strong, personalized password. Remember, unauthorized access to foreign networks is illegal, and I am not responsible for any misuse.

From Android 6 (Marshmallow) onwards, you need to grant location permissions to use WPSApp due to new requirements introduced by Google. For more information, visit: Google's Android 6.0 Changes.

Some Samsung models encrypt passwords, displaying them as long hexadecimal strings. If you're unsure how to decrypt these, look online or contact me directly. Also, note that pin connection doesn't work on LG models running Android 7 (Nougat) due to LG's software issues.
