In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, combat plays a crucial role, and having the right weapons can make a significant difference. After the prologue, Henry finds himself in need of better gear, and the Dogwood Village Bow is an excellent early acquisition that you can obtain for free.
Early Dogwood Village Bow Location in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Once you part ways with Hans, your next objective is to infiltrate the wedding. You have two main options: work as a blacksmith or a miller to earn your way in. Even if you choose not to take the blacksmith job, the map marker for it can guide you directly to the Dogwood Village Bow. If you decide to take up the blacksmith job to attend Semine’s wedding, you'll also want to learn how to acquire the hermit’s sword later on.
The blacksmith job is located in Tachov, just north of Troskowitz, where the prologue ends and the open world begins. Head west out of Troskowitz, following the road as it curves north. At the junction where a small road branches west and the main road splits ahead, turn right into a cluster of trees. This area is easy to overlook as it blends in with the surroundings. Tucked within these trees is a small training area.
Inside the cluster, you'll spot a target with arrows embedded in it. Approach the target to collect the arrows for free ammo. To the right of the tree, you'll find the Dogwood Village Bow leaning against the trunk. Don't forget to grab the brew from the nearby stump and pick some mushrooms while you're there. Once you've gathered what you need, you can proceed with your current quest.

Other Ways to Get the Dogwood Village Bow in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Alternatively, you can purchase the Dogwood Village Bow from Huntsman’s Son Vitek in Tachov. However, considering its proximity to the free version, it's more economical to retrieve the free bow if you lack any ranged options. Vitek offers other, more powerful weapons, and you can earn money through alchemy by collecting herbs and brewing potions to sell.
Whether you opt for the free bow or save up for a different weapon, having a ranged combat option is crucial, especially since the game doesn't allow difficulty adjustments. The combat mechanics in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* are similar to those in the first game, and melee combat might not appeal to everyone. Personally, I prefer using ranged weapons whenever possible.
If you decide to proceed to Tachov for the blacksmith job, you can sleep and save after successfully forging a sword. Alternatively, you can head to the miller to continue the main quest. With a ranged weapon at your disposal, combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* becomes much more manageable.
And that’s how you can secure the free Dogwood Village Bow early in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
