Firaxis Games Unveils Civ 7 Post-Launch Roadmap
Firaxis Games has revealed its post-launch roadmap for Civilization VII (Civ 7), detailing upcoming content following the game's February 11th release. The roadmap outlines a mix of paid DLC and free updates.
March Updates:
The March updates include paid DLC featuring Ada Lovelace and Simon Bolivar as new leaders. Free updates will introduce exciting new gameplay elements, including the Bermuda Triangle and Mount Everest.
Additional content, such as events and challenges, will also be added.
Future Content:
Beyond March, Firaxis plans to release two additional leaders, four civilizations, and four world wonders, along with further events and challenges. Specific release dates for this content are yet to be announced. Further updates are planned for October 2025 and beyond.
Planned Features (No Release Dates):
The developers also highlighted several features initially planned for launch but postponed. These include:
- Adding teams to multiplayer games.
- Increasing the maximum number of players in multiplayer to eight.
- Allowing players to select starting and ending ages.
- Introducing a wider variety of map types.
- Implementing hotseat multiplayer.
Firaxis is committed to delivering these features as soon as possible, though no release dates have been confirmed.
