Civilization VII: A Roadmap to Global Domination
Civilization VII's launch is imminent, with a release date set for February 11th. Deluxe and Founders Edition owners gain early access on February 6th. The game will be available across all major platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with Steam Deck compatibility confirmed. A day-one patch will also be released.
The developers, Firaxis Games and 2K, have declared the game "gold," signifying the completion of primary development and eliminating further delays (barring unforeseen issues). This marks a significant milestone for the renowned 4X strategy series.
The first DLC, "Crossroads of the World," arrives in March, split into two releases. The initial drop features Great Britain and Carthage as playable civilizations, introducing Ada Lovelace as a new leader. Three weeks later, the second part introduces Simon Bolivar as a leader, alongside Bulgaria and Nepal as new civilizations.
Further expansion is planned with the "Right to Rule" DLC, expected in Q2 or Q3 2025 (April-September). This DLC will add two more leaders, four new civilizations, and additional natural wonders.
March also sees the addition of new in-game events and natural wonders, including the Bermuda Triangle and Mount Everest. Firaxis promises ongoing enhancements and challenges to keep the gameplay fresh and engaging.
