Known Habitats: Iceshard Cliffs
Breakable Parts: Head and Tail
Recommended Elemental Attack: Fire
Effective Status Effects: Poison (3x), Sleep (3x), Paralysis (2x), Blastblight (2x), Stun (2x), Exhaust (2x)
Effective Items: Pitfall Trap, Shock Trap, Flash Pod

Bring Large Dung Pods

Hirabami, unlike many solitary monsters, often travel in packs, significantly increasing the difficulty. Large Dung Pods are invaluable here, dispersing the group and allowing you to focus on one Hirabami at a time.

Use Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger Ammo

Hirabami's aerial prowess makes ranged weapons advantageous. However, for melee users, Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo is a crucial tool to knock them from the air. If you lack ammo, severing the Hirabami's tail yields a Tail Claw Shard, which can be crafted into this essential ammo.

Utilize Environmental Traps

The Iceshard Cliffs arena offers strategic environmental hazards: Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars. Exploiting these to trigger a stun and inflict damage on Hirabami is highly effective.

Aim for the Head

The head remains the primary target, though its airborne nature poses a challenge. Ranged weapons have the clear advantage, while melee users should focus on attacks during the creature's descent.

Watch the Tail

Hirabami's attacks are varied and unpredictable—bites, spitting projectiles, and powerful dive attacks. While focusing on dodging these, be mindful of its tail swipe, a devastating hammer-like blow.

Capturing Hirabami requires reducing its health to 20% or less (indicated by a skull icon on the minimap). Quickly set a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap, then swiftly administer a Tranquilizer before it escapes. Success yields rewards, though it reduces the chance of obtaining extra materials from weak point hits.

Mastering these strategies will significantly improve your chances of successfully defeating and capturing Hirabami in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Remember to utilize Large Dung Pods or the SOS flare for added assistance.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
