Dataminer Finds Hara-Kiri Animations in Mortal Kombat 1, May Become Quitalities

A Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer has uncovered what appears to be strong evidence suggesting that the iconic fighting game will introduce Hara-Kiri Fatalities as Quitalities. Redditor InfiniteNightZ shared a video showcasing what seem to be Hara-Kiri Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1. Hara-Kiri finishers, which were first introduced in 2004's Mortal Kombat: Deception, allow the losing player to perform a self-Fatality.

This finding lends credibility to the speculation that these animations will be incorporated into Mortal Kombat 1 in a forthcoming update. "After seeing that they're adding it to the downloaded roster now, I think it's highly possible," InfiniteNightZ commented.

Furthermore, InfiniteNightZ suggested that these Hara-Kiri animations could be introduced as Quitalities, as they are labeled in the game's code. Quitalities are swift finishers that activate when a player exits a multiplayer match prematurely, a feature seen in previous Mortal Kombat games. "They are listed as Quitalities, there's still hope," InfiniteNightZ noted about the animations.

Renowned Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer Interloko also discovered additional Hara-Kiri animations following InfiniteNightZ's initial revelation.

Thanks @MatthewDim40523 for tagging me Here are another 2 missing from the video, so looks like only Omniman and Conan doesn't have one.

I didn't try to trigger it in the game because I'm busy finishing some stuff of the demo of my own game https://t.co/TqBKyauY0G pic.twitter.com/hL4QzLRXwf

However, it's important to remember that these findings might not lead to any official implementation, as neither NetherRealm Studios nor Warner Bros. Games has announced Quitalities for Mortal Kombat 1.

Mortal Kombat 1 has recently seen a surge in popularity with the introduction of a secret fight featuring Floyd, the pink ninja, and the community's collaborative efforts to unlock him. Fans are also eagerly anticipating the T-1000 guest character and potentially more DLC, although NetherRealm has yet to confirm any further additions.
