A new roguelike word game, Letterlike, is challenging word game enthusiasts! Blending elements of Balatro and Scrabble, Letterlike offers a unique combination of vocabulary skills and roguelike unpredictability.
Building Words in Letterlike
As a roguelike, Letterlike features procedurally generated letter sets and challenges for each playthrough, ensuring endless replayability. Each game begins with a set of letters; your objective is to create words, accumulate points, and progress through levels. Each level consists of three rounds.
To advance, you must score enough points by forming words, similar to Scrabble. However, you only have five attempts per round, demanding strategic word creation.
Facing undesirable letters? You can discard some, but discards are limited, requiring careful selection. A rearrange mode allows you to manipulate letters to maximize your score.
The final round introduces a twist: some letters become worthless, yielding no points.
Earned points and rewards unlock power-ups to enhance future games. Certain buffs are automatic, while others require reaching specific levels. Collected gems also provide access to powerful upgrades.
Worth a Try?
Letterlike offers simple, minimalist gameplay with a surprisingly addictive quality. The game allows replaying specific runs with friends using shared seeds—share that frustrating letter combination and let your friends experience the challenge!
Letterlike is ad-free with a one-time purchase and playable offline. A free demo version is available on the Google Play Store. Not a word game fan? Check out our next article on Blizzard's Diablo Immortal Patch 3.2, "Shattered Sanctuary."
