Leslie Benzies, the visionary behind some of Rockstar Games' most iconic titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up to unveil his latest project, MindsEye. The game, which recently showcased a fresh look at the PlayStation State of Play, promises to be an enthralling high-tech spy thriller that echoes the grandeur of Benzies' previous works.
The newly released trailer for MindsEye gives fans a glimpse into a world filled with third-person gunplay, stunning cinematics, and dynamic drive-and-gun sequences, drawing unmistakable parallels to the Grand Theft Auto series. You can dive into the cinematic experience by watching the trailer below.
According to the official press release, MindsEye follows the journey of Jacob Diaz, who is equipped with a neural implant called the MindsEye. This device, however, has disrupted his memory, leaving him with fragmented flashbacks of his military past. Driven by a quest to uncover the truth about his history, Diaz finds himself entangled with an AI-powered military force that seeks to thwart his efforts.
MindsEye has been in development for several years since Benzies left Rockstar Games to establish his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy. Collaborating with IO Interactive, the developers behind Hitman, MindsEye is poised to be a AAA action-adventure game. Alongside the game, Benzies plans to launch the Everywhere platform, which we previously likened to a "Big budget Roblox" following our visit to their studio in 2024.
While the new trailer did not delve into Everywhere, MindsEye itself stands out as an eagerly anticipated action game crafted by one of the genre's most prominent figures. Fans can mark their calendars for a summer 2025 release.
