Holding On To Marvel’s Wolverine Updates
In their latest roadmap, Insomniac Games has remained tight-lipped about the much-anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine. In an interview with Variety, Co-Head Chad Dezern emphasized the studio's focus on "great projects and with a really ambitious roadmap," yet they are not ready to unveil any specifics about Marvel's Wolverine, including any potential 2025 release date.
"As much as we have pent up excitement, we got to hold on to it," Dezern stated, highlighting the studio's cautious approach to sharing updates.
Marvel’s Wolverine First Announced in 2021
Marvel’s Wolverine made its debut during the PlayStation Showcase 2021, where Insomniac unveiled the game with a captivating cinematic teaser trailer, confirming its development for the PlayStation 5.In a 2023 interview with the YouTuber group Kinda Funny, Bryan Intihar, Creative Director of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine shares the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man, specifically noting "they’re all in 1048." This connection has sparked fan speculation about potential crossover events, although the only nod so far has been a Wolverine-themed suit named "The Best There Is" in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The development of Marvel's Wolverine faced a significant challenge in December 2023 when Insomniac Games suffered a ransomware attack, which briefly exposed the game's development assets and gameplay to the public.
Insomniac Games Current Projects
Insomniac Games also announced that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be coming to PC on January 30, 2025, as revealed during New York Comic-Con 2025. The studio has clarified that no additional story content is planned for the game. However, the PC version will include all updates post-PS5 release, such as new suits, New Game+, and more. It will be available in two versions: Standard and Digital Deluxe Edition, with the latter offering exclusive suits for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
