Stun the Monster
Ebony Odogaron's speed is its most challenging attribute. To counter this, you can stun it using a Flashfly, which is typically found nearby, or by crafting and using Flash Pods. This will give you a crucial window to attack without being overwhelmed by its rapid movements.
Bring Teammates
Facing Ebony Odogaron solo can be daunting due to its relentless attacks. Bringing teammates can significantly ease the burden. Use SOS signals to call for help; if no players respond, NPCs can join as useful distractions. When the monster focuses on you, dodge until it shifts its attention to your allies.
Pull Down Entangled Rocks
During the fight, you'll enter an area with Entangled Rocks overhead. Use your slinger to bring them down, stunning the monster for a few seconds. This tactic can only be used once per fight, but you can also deploy Pitfall and Shock Traps to immobilize it twice more.
Beware of Dragonblight
Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which hampers your ability to deal elemental or status effect damage. Counter this by using a Nulberry or equipping decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance.
Inflict Paralysis
Paralysis is highly effective against Ebony Odogaron, immobilizing it for a short time. If you can knock it down near roots, it might get further entangled, giving you more time to attack. This strategy can make the fight much more manageable.
Aim for the Head
The head is Ebony Odogaron's most vulnerable spot, with a 3-star weakness. Targeting it maximizes your damage output, though it puts you at risk. Alternatively, aim for the forelegs and tail to break its limbs, albeit with less damage.

How to Capture Ebony Odogaron in Monster Hunter Wilds
To capture Ebony Odogaron, use a Pitfall or Shock Trap after reducing its health to 20% or less. If you attempt to capture it too early, the tranquilizer won't work, and the monster will break free, forcing you to continue the fight.
