Microsoft Edge introduces Game Assist, a revolutionary in-game browser designed to enhance your PC gaming experience. This innovative tool eliminates the need to alt-tab out of your game to access browsing functionality, streamlining your gameplay.
A Game-Aware Browser Experience
Edge Game Assist, available now in preview, addresses the common frustration of PC gamers who use browsers for assistance, tracking progress, or communication during gameplay. Microsoft's research indicates that a significant percentage of players utilize browsers while gaming, often requiring them to switch between applications—a disruptive process. Game Assist provides a seamless solution.
This in-game browser overlays on top of your game, accessible via the Game Bar. It leverages your existing Microsoft Edge profile, meaning your bookmarks, history, and saved login information are instantly available. No need for repeated logins!
Smart Game-Aware Tab
A standout feature is the intelligent "game-aware tab page." This automatically suggests relevant tips, guides, and walkthroughs for the game you're currently playing, eliminating the need for manual searches. This functionality is particularly helpful given that a substantial portion of gamers seek in-game assistance. You can even pin this tab for persistent access.
Currently, this automatic suggestion feature is limited to a selection of popular titles (Baldur's Gate 3, Diablo IV, Fortnite, Hellblade II: Senua's Saga, League of Legends, Minecraft, Overwatch 2, Roblox, and Valorant) during the beta testing phase. Microsoft plans to expand game compatibility over time.
