Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to the Esports World Cup 2025!
Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, many game publishers are confirming their titles' return for the 2025 edition. Hot on the heels of Garena's Free Fire announcement, Moonton has confirmed that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will once again be a featured title.
The 2024 World Cup showcased two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang events: the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. These events attracted teams from across the globe to Riyadh. Selangor Red Giants emerged victorious in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress defeated Team Vitality (holders of a 25-game win streak since 2021) to claim the Women's Invitational title.
A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?
While most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup are returning, a noticeable trend is the absence of truly major championships. The inclusion of the MLBB Mid-Season Cup, for instance, might lead some to perceive the EWC as a secondary event rather than the main attraction. This is a double-edged sword: it avoids overshadowing existing leagues but could also diminish the EWC's overall prestige.
Despite this, fans of the participating games will undoubtedly welcome the return of so many familiar titles to this prestigious tournament.
