In today's crowded gaming landscape, finding a truly unique title can be a challenge. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its compelling narrative and intriguing blend of mystery and Lovecraftian horror. This puzzle adventure game boasts a captivating story, making it a must-watch for gamers.
My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision
The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, initially pursued writing and filmmaking. A college collaboration on a game fell through, but the core concept remained. Alameen, driven by his creative vision, taught himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, embarking on a solo development journey. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.
Unveiling the Story
My Father Lied plunges players into a mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, filled with secrets, puzzles, and unexpected twists. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: what happened to her father? The answer, as the narrative unfolds, is far from straightforward.
The game seamlessly blends 7,000 years of Mesopotamian culture with a modern storyline. Gameplay features simple point-and-click mechanics, beautiful 2D visuals, and immersive 360-degree images.
