Ninja Gaiden 2 Black Update Adds New Game Plus and More

Author : Zoey Mar 21,2025

Team Ninja has released a significant update for Ninja Gaiden Master Collection, bringing it to version 1.0.7.0. This patch delivers highly anticipated features, including New Game Plus, Photo Mode, and various quality-of-life improvements, fulfilling a promise made to fans in January. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), this update enhances the already thrilling experience.

New Game Plus lets you replay the game on any previously completed difficulty level, carrying over your hard-earned weapons and Ninpo. While these items will revert to level 1, the option to immediately jump into a higher difficulty isn't available.

A welcome addition is the ability to hide the projectile weapon displayed on your back. This toggle is conveniently located in the Options menu under Game Settings.

Balance adjustments include reduced enemy HP in Chapters 8 and 11, increased enemy numbers in Chapters 13 and 14, and a damage boost for some of Ayane's attacks.

The patch also addresses numerous bugs, including those affecting high-performance PCs, game-breaking glitches in specific chapters, and issues causing crashes during extended play sessions. The complete patch notes are detailed below.

Ninja Gaiden Master Collection surprised players with its release during the January Xbox Developer Direct. This updated version, built with Unreal Engine 5, boasts enhanced visuals, new playable characters, and improved battle support. IGN's 8/10 review praised the game, stating, "Fewer enemies with more health may mean Ninja Gaiden 2 Black isn't quite the definitive version, but it's a definite and gorgeous improvement over its Sigma 2 release, and still an excellent action game all around."
