Nintendo has officially unveiled the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 after a series of leaks. However, a comprehensive reveal won't be available until the Nintendo Direct scheduled for April 2025. A brief trailer showcased the new console and announced an upcoming Mario Kart game, culminating with the confirmation of the upcoming Nintendo Direct.
"Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 will air on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, offering a closer look at Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to Nintendo Switch releasing in 2025," stated Nintendo on their official website. "The broadcast time will be announced on this website and on our social media accounts at a later date."

The initial announcement was light on specifics but highlighted the new console's visuals and the redesigned Joy-Con controllers. As previously leaked, the Nintendo Switch 2 appears to be a larger and more advanced version of the original Switch.
Following the full reveal at the Nintendo Direct, Nintendo plans to host various fan events around the world. In North America, these events will take place in New York (April 4-6), Los Angeles (April 11-13), Dallas (April 25-27), and Toronto (April 25-27). European locations include Paris (April 4-6), London (April 11-13), Milan (April 25-27), Berlin (April 25-27), Madrid (May 9-11), and Amsterdam (May 9-11). Additional events are scheduled in Melbourne (May 10-11), Tokyo (April 26-27), Seoul (May 31-June 1), with further dates to be announced for Hong Kong and Taipei.
