Pokémon TCG Pocket's trading feature launch has been less than stellar, despite high player demand. This has led developers to announce a rework of the trading system.
As a temporary measure, all players will receive 1,000 Trade Tokens via the in-game Gifts menu. Trade Tokens were previously a necessary currency for card trading. This giveaway aims to appease players while the trading system is overhauled.
The initial trading system faced significant criticism, particularly concerning restrictions on trading certain card rarities and the requirement for Trade Tokens. Many players felt these limitations were unnecessarily cumbersome.
Reworking the Trading System
The developers could have avoided much of the controversy by either implementing a completely open trading system or omitting the feature altogether. While concerns about bots and exploitation are valid, stringent limitations likely wouldn't have deterred determined players.
The upcoming rework is crucial for addressing player concerns. A well-implemented digital trading system could establish Pokémon TCG Pocket as a strong competitor to the physical card game.
