A Japanese YouTuber has achieved a remarkable feat in Pokémon TCG Pocket, amassing an impressive collection of 50,000 cards by consistently purchasing the maximum daily amount of Poké Gold since the game's launch. Let's delve into this impressive accomplishment and the exciting McDonald's collaboration!
YouTuber's Daily Poké Gold Spree
A $8,500+ Investment (Excluding Sales)
Hajimesyacho, a popular Japanese YouTuber known for diverse content ranging from product reviews to vlogs and challenges, recently revealed his incredible Pokémon TCG Pocket achievement on Twitter (X). Since the game's October 30, 2024 launch, he's purchased the maximum 720 Poké Gold daily. This translates to approximately $100 per day, totaling an estimated $8,500 over the 85 days the game has been live—and this doesn't even account for any potential savings during sales events!
This dedication allowed him to collect a vast array of cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs, along with time-limited promotional cards. His collection showcases a commitment to acquiring every available card. The latest addition? A new Trainer card, the Pokédex, which displays the top three cards in a player's deck—a reward given for surpassing 40 billion cards collected globally.
McDonald's x Pokémon: A Happy Meal Collaboration
Adding to the excitement, The Pokémon Company announced a thrilling collaboration with McDonald's on January 21, 2025! Fans can now grab Pokémon-themed Happy Meals featuring collectible physical cards and in-game items.
Fifteen unique physical cards are up for grabs, including popular Pokémon like Miraidon, Roaring Moon, Rayquaza, and more. Seven of these boast a stunning "holo" or "foil" finish. Pokémon TCG Pocket players also receive in-game rewards: 24 Pack Hourglasses and 12 Hourglasses, useful for opening booster packs and selecting cards from Wonder Pick.
Four distinct Happy Meal box designs feature iconic dragon-type Pokémon such as Charizard, Rayquaza, Roaring Moon, and Dragonite, alongside Pikachu. Don't miss out—these limited-time items are available at participating McDonald's while supplies last. Remember, the in-game rewards expire on March 31, 2025!
Pokémon TCG Pocket's Upcoming Trading Feature
On January 17, 2025, Pokémon TCG Pocket announced details about its eagerly awaited trading feature on Twitter (X). Trading will initially be limited to friends with cards of matching rarity (1-4 diamonds and 1-star). Rarer cards, such as Special Illustration Rare, Immersive, and Crown Rares, will not be tradeable. A consumable item will be required for each trade, similar to Stardust in Pokémon GO.
While cards from Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs are initially tradeable, the developers have assured players that the selection will expand in the future, balancing ease of trading with the enjoyment of collecting. A new booster pack is also teased for release in January, though the exact date remains undisclosed.
