Ubisoft's unannounced game, Project U, has been plagued by a series of unfortunate leaks starting as early as 2022, shortly after the closed beta testing phase began. These leaks have resurfaced two years later, indicating that the project is still in active development. Recently, following what seems to be a reboot of the game's development, an introductory cinematic has been leaked online.
The origin and authenticity of the cinematic remain unconfirmed officially. The leak was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for his history of leaking gaming content. Weber suggested that more videos from Project U could emerge if the game continues its development cycle.
Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, inspired by the success of Helldivers 2. According to the leaked footage, the game's narrative centers on an alien machine invasion of Earth, where players assume the roles of selected individuals fighting against this extraterrestrial menace.
As of now, Ubisoft has not released any official statement regarding the formal announcement of Project U.
