The ESRB website has updated the rating for Resident Evil 6, maintaining its Mature 17+ rating but adding the Xbox Series X|S as a new platform. This suggests an upcoming release for the current-gen console.

Initially released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and remastered in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, this new version is likely also headed to PlayStation 5. While no official announcement has been made, speculation is rife.

Interestingly, the game's description has changed. Previous versions were categorized as "third-person shooters," while the new listing designates it as a "survival horror" game. This subtle shift hints at potential differences, though specifics remain unclear until an official reveal.

Beyond this remaster, fans eagerly await news of Resident Evil 9, rumored to be set four years after the events of Resident Evil Village.
