Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have delighted fans by rolling out an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update is a breath of fresh air for mobile gamers, though console and PC players will have to sit this one out.
Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!
Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update brings a host of new languages and focuses on enhancing stability and squashing bugs. Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to ensure a smoother experience.
For Android users with compatible devices, the update introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), enhancing visual depth. Both Android and iOS platforms now feature an updated app icon and haptic feedback, making the gameplay more immersive.
Several mission-specific issues have been addressed. The notorious locker-picking challenge in 'That Bitch' with Mandy is now fixable, and 'Weed Killer' will progress correctly even if you break the window prematurely. The update also fixes the bizarre issue of police cars falling through the floor during 'The Rumble'.
Combat dynamics have been improved; enemies will no longer shy away from attacking Jimmy, ensuring more engaging fights. Additionally, the update resolves crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.
What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?
The Bully community has been vocal about their desire for a sequel, Bully 2, for years. Although there were reports of its development in the 2010s, it was ultimately shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim, especially with many original developers having moved on from Rockstar.
While this update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a significant upgrade for mobile players. If you're new to Bully, you're in for a treat. This game is Rockstar's unique spin on a schoolyard sandbox, where you step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of Bullworth Academy. Expect the signature Rockstar humor and open-world antics.
You can grab Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, and it supports full gamepad functionality for an enhanced gaming experience.
