Even before its global launch, Sonic Rumble has kicked off an exciting crossover event dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars, which is now live and will run until May 7th, just before the game's worldwide release on May 8th. Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is accessible in over 40 countries, having first rolled out during pre-launch 1 in Summer 2024 in regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia. The second pre-launch phase expanded its availability to Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and other regions.
What's in Store?
If you're in one of the regions where Sonic Rumble has soft-launched, you can jump right into the SEGA Stars crossover. A highlight of the event is the return of the Altered Beast crew, with the Werewolf transformation available for free. Fans of the classic beast modes can also grab the Werebear and Weredragon, though availability depends on your payment method. The Weredragon is part of the Premium Pass, while the Werebear can be purchased with regular rings.
Adding a touch of Fantasy Zone to the mix, Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa have joined the party. Opa-Opa is also featured in the Premium Pass, whereas Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments purchased with standard rings, at a cost of 700 rings each.
From Super Monkey Ball, AiAi and MeeMee have rolled into the crossover. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. For a closer look at what the SEGA Stars crossover brings to Sonic Rumble, check out the event trailer below.
Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover
During the event, you can earn extra rewards by collecting SEGA logos in matches. While it might seem odd for the event to be live before the global release, SEGA has confirmed that most of these pre-release rewards will return later. This initial crossover event showcases a delightful blend of SEGA's past and present, featuring everything from monkeys and sentient arcade ships to powerful were-creatures mingling with Sonic and his friends, adding to the anticipation for Sonic Rumble.
You can download the game from the Google Play Store or look forward to its release on May 8th in your region. In the meantime, don't miss our coverage of the Vampire Survivors SaGa-Based DLC Emerald Diorama, along with the Cross-Save Update.
