NieR:Automata features a wide array of enemies, many of which drop valuable materials for upgrading your pod and weapons. While most materials are acquired naturally during gameplay, some, like Warped Wire, require targeted farming. This guide pinpoints an efficient location to farm Warped Wire.
Farming Warped Wire in NieR: Automata
Warped Wire is a rare drop from stacked bipedal machines. These enemies are uncommon, except for a specific area: the mountainous region near the Desert Camp access point. After fast traveling to Desert Camp, proceed along the path towards the main desert. Before reaching the open desert, you'll encounter this area with multiple stacked machines near some ruins alongside a pipe.
Focus on two small clearings around the destroyed buildings. The stacked bipedal machines found near these buildings have a relatively high Warped Wire drop rate; you'll typically obtain one or two per clearing. Equipping a Drop Rate Up plug-in chip significantly accelerates this process.
To expedite farming, utilize these respawn methods:
- Fast Travel: Fast travel to a different location and then return to Desert Camp to force enemy respawns.
- Distance Respawn: Running a significant distance away and returning will also cause respawns, although fast traveling is considerably faster.
Investing in drop rate increase chips is highly recommended, not only for Warped Wire, but for many upgrade materials dropped by machines throughout the game. Similarly, movement speed increase chips will make your travel between access points faster. While the time saved here is minimal, these chips are invaluable for completing the game's racing side quests.
