Nightmare Tempest Mephis can be a fantastic upgrade for your 4-slot Echo of Electro characters in Wuthering Waves. Not only does it boost your stats, but it also has the potential to enhance specific damage rotations, making it a more powerful choice than its standard counterpart. Plus, it looks cooler!
While all Nightmare Echoes in Wuthering Waves offer similar bonuses, accessing Nightmare Tempest Mephis involves a few more steps. Here's how to unlock this formidable boss.
Where to Find Nightmare Tempest Mephis in Wuthering Waves
You'll find this boss in the expansive, circular arena located in the Shores of Last Breath within the Fagaceae Peninsula. However, before you can challenge Nightmare Tempest Mephis, you'll need to complete a couple of prerequisites.
First, you must finish the "Where Winds Return to Celestial Realms" quest in Wuthering Waves. This exploration quest takes place in the Shores of Last Breath and focuses on combat. Although you can complete it in one go, it will take some time. Completing this quest is crucial as it unlocks the path to Nightmare Tempest Mephis' arena.
Secondly, you need to locate all the Dream Patrols in the Shores of Last Breath. Simply discovering them and having them appear on your map is sufficient; you don't need to complete the patrols. Once you've found all of them, you'll receive a notification that Nightmare Tempest Mephis has appeared, and you can then engage it at the location shown in the image above.
Should You Use Nightmare Tempest Mephis?
Whether you should use Nightmare Tempest Mephis depends on the stats of your Echo drops and the character you're building in Wuthering Waves. When equipped in the main Echo slot, Nightmare Tempest Mephis naturally enhances Electro DMG and can be part of either the Void Thunder or Empyrean Anthem Sonata sets. The Void Thunder set is excellent for all Electro damage dealers, whereas the Empyrean Anthem set is better suited for characters like Yinlin and Yuanwu, who excel in Coordinated Attacks.
Moreover, Nightmare Tempest Mephis' transformation attack differs from the regular version, potentially improving rotations for certain characters or teams. Combined with the passive Electro DMG bonus, Nightmare Echoes are definitely worth considering for most characters.
However, always prioritize Echoes with superior stats. If your Nightmare Tempest Mephis has poorer stats than a regular one, you might achieve better overall performance by sticking with the standard variant.
