Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct, set for January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the year's Xbox game reveals. The first Xbox Developer Direct debuted in January 2023, followed by a second in January 2024. This consistent January scheduling continues into 2025.
The showcase begins at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch.
Confirmed Games for Xbox Developer Direct 2025:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France). Targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, initially announced in June 2024. A demo was playable at QuakeCon 2024, with rumors pointing to a mid-2025 launch.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games (Canada), the creators of Contrast and We Happy Few. Announced in June 2023, a release date is still pending.
While these three games are confirmed, previous Developer Directs (lasting over 40 minutes each) showcased multiple titles. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Expect the 2025 event to follow suit, potentially including further unannounced surprises.
