The cult-classic mobile game, 868-Hack, is poised for a comeback with a crowdfunding campaign for its sequel, 868-Back. This roguelike digital dungeon crawler lets players experience the thrill of hacking cyberpunk mainframes.
Cyber warfare often falls short of its exciting premise, but 868-Hack successfully captures the essence of hacking. Similar to the PC puzzle game Uplink, it cleverly balances simplicity and challenge in its programming and information warfare mechanics. The original game delivered on its promise, and its sequel promises even more.
868-Back expands upon the original's formula. Players will construct complex action sequences using Progs, but with a larger world to explore, revamped Progs, and enhanced graphics and sound.
Conquer the digital landscape
868-Hack's gritty art style and cyberpunk aesthetic are undeniably appealing. Supporting its crowdfunding campaign feels like a worthwhile endeavor, although inherent risks accompany any such project. While setbacks are always possible, we wholeheartedly wish developer Michael Brough the best in bringing 868-Back to fruition.
