Curious about the new Artian weapons in *Monster Hunter Wilds*? These innovative weapons are a late-game feature that lets you craft unique weapons with customizable stats and elements, tailored to your playstyle. Let's dive into everything you need to know about unlocking and crafting these powerful tools.
How to Craft Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
To unlock the Artian weapon crafting feature, you must first complete the main story and reach High Rank. After that, you'll need to defeat your first Tempered monster. You'll recognize this monster by the NPCs' comments about its toughness and numerous scars.
Once you've vanquished this formidable foe, Gemma will initiate a conversation about Artian weapons, triggering a tutorial. Gemma will explain that she can now craft these weapons, which require three components per weapon type. Each component has a rarity value, an element type, and an Artian bonus. To craft a weapon, you must use components with the same rarity value.
The elemental effect of your weapon depends on the majority element among your components. For example, using two water and one lightning component will result in a water weapon. Using three water components will enhance the water infusion, but using three different elements will yield no elemental infusion at all.
The Artian bonus offers either an attack boost, increasing your weapon's damage output, or an affinity boost, enhancing your critical hit chance. Choose the bonus that aligns with your preferred playstyle.
How to Get Artian Materials in Monster Hunter Wilds
Obtaining Artian materials is straightforward: hunt Tempered monsters in High Rank. After defeating your first Tempered monster, you'll start encountering one or two in each area. You'll receive notifications when they're nearby, and they're identifiable on the map by their blue outline.
Defeating or capturing a Tempered monster will reward you with Artian parts, which you can find among the main mission rewards and decorations. As your hunter rank increases, the rarity of these parts will also increase, naturally progressing as you do. While there's no direct correlation between the monster you hunt and the specific Artian drops, you can focus on hunting monsters you enjoy or need parts from for other weapons or armor pieces.
