Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered not only delivers thrilling moment-to-moment action but also provides deep customization options for weapons and outfits. You can tailor one outfit for stealthy approaches against machines, while another might enhance your prowess in melee or ranged combat.
There are times when you'll yearn to harness the combined power of multiple outfits. Fortunately, this is possible in the remastered version, albeit with certain limitations. Let's explore how you can achieve this in the guide below.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
To enjoy the benefits of dual outfit effects, you'll need the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered edition. A recent update introduced the transmog feature, allowing you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while sporting the appearance of another. This means you no longer have to compromise on style for the sake of stats.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To leverage the effects of two outfits, you must meet specific conditions. Not all outfits are compatible with this method. While you can select any outfit as your primary, the secondary must be one of the following three:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (only available in New Game Plus)
These outfits are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC area, so you won't be able to use this technique early in the game. However, you don't need to finish the base game to access the DLC.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
Start by reaching the expansion area, which involves defeating a new machine. If you find this challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear beforehand. Once in the area, locate a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue Merchant icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
To acquire the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear, as this quest can be demanding. Alternatively, switch to Story mode to make it easier and unlock the outfit faster.
The process for obtaining the Adept version is identical, but it's only available in New Game Plus.
Once you have the second outfit, you're ready to proceed. There's no need to continue with the Frozen Wilds content unless you wish to.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
Start by equipping your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you need. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats using Weaves. After selecting your primary outfit, use the transmog feature to adopt the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. These outfits don't add stats but offer an automatic healing perk after sustaining damage for a period.
This technique lets you maintain the stats of your chosen outfit while benefiting from the auto-healing provided by the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you become nearly invincible, taking minimal damage. When you do take hits, the Banuk Werak outfits' healing perk activates after a brief delay.
The healing perk of the Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits activates more quickly than the Banuk Werak Runner's, so prioritize these if you have them.
