Killing Floor 3 Delayed to Later in 2025

Tripwire Interactive announced a significant delay for Killing Floor 3 (KF3), pushing its release from March 25th, 2025, to a later, unspecified date in 2025. This decision follows a closed beta test that fell short of expectations.

Disappointing Beta Feedback Leads to Delay

In a Bluesky post on March 7th, 2025, Tripwire acknowledged the negative feedback received during the beta. The developer stated their commitment to delivering a game that meets the franchise's standards, rather than rushing a release. Specific areas cited for improvement include performance, stability, user interface/experience, lighting, and weapon feel.

Player feedback on social media was overwhelmingly critical. Common complaints included descriptions like "insanely clunky and clumsy," "unpolished," and "glitch-ridden." Concerns were also raised about the game's departure from the series' established horror elements in favor of a more sci-fi aesthetic, and the character/class locking system in the beta. One Reddit user, Captain_Pugman, questioned whether the developers had lost sight of what made the Killing Floor series special.

Tripwire concluded their announcement by promising a more polished version of KF3 and assuring players they would be updated as soon as more details become available.

US PlayStation users will have the option to retain their pre-order or request a refund. Steam pre-orders require manual refunds through Steam support. Refunds for other platforms will be handled according to individual vendor policies.
