Due to unexpectedly high demand, Nintendo has postponed the general retail release of the Alarmo alarm clock in Japan. Initially slated for February 2025, the launch has been delayed indefinitely due to insufficient stock. This delay, announced on the official Nintendo Japan website, doesn't currently impact international availability, with a global launch still planned for March 2025.
To address the shortage, Nintendo Japan is implementing a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. This pre-order period begins mid-December 2024, with shipments expected in early February 2025. The exact pre-order start date will be announced separately.
The Alarmo, a popular interactive alarm clock featuring iconic Nintendo soundtracks from franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, was initially released globally in October 2024. Its immediate popularity led to online order cancellations and a lottery system for online purchases. Physical stock also sold out rapidly in Japan and at the New York Nintendo store.
Nintendo will provide further updates regarding pre-orders and the rescheduled general sales launch in Japan. Keep checking back for more information.
