Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. Initially, elements provided character buffs and enemy resistances, but lacked deep team synergies. Version 2.0 introduces Elemental Effects, allowing for more direct interactions beyond passive benefits.
Elemental Effects: Status Effects and Debuffs
Elemental Effects, previously limited to enemies, now directly impact players. Each element has a unique effect:
Elemental Effect | Effect Description |
---|---|
Havoc Bane | Stacks periodically, up to 2. At 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters. |
Glacio Chafe | Reduces movement speed per stack, up to 10 stacks (freeze). Players can "Struggle" to speed up thawing. |
Spectro Frazzle | Stacks reduce to deal Spectro DMG over time. More stacks = more damage. |
Fusion Burst | Stacks up to 10, then explodes, dealing Fusion DMG. |
Aero Erosion | Deals Aero DMG periodically; stacks don't decrease to deal damage. More stacks = more damage. |
Electro Flare | Reduces ATK based on stacks (1-4: -5%, 5-9: -7% + Magnetized effect, 10: -10%). |
Dodging removes all effect stacks.
Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets Utilizing Elemental Effects
Currently, the use of Elemental Effects is limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets interact with them:
Resonators:
- Spectro Rover: Post-Version 2.0 rework, Spectro Rover uniquely applies Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill (Resonating Spin) applies 2 stacks of Spectro Frazzle, and a Shimmer effect prevents stack decay, allowing sustained effect buildup.
Echoes and Echo Sets:
- Eternal Radiance Echo Set: (2pc) +10% Spectro DMG; (5pc) Spectro Frazzle inflicts increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s; 10 stacks grant a 15% Spectro DMG Bonus for 15s.
- Nightmare Echo (Mourning Aix): Deals Spectro DMG increased by 100% against enemies with Spectro Frazzle. Provides a 12% Spectro DMG Bonus.
Currently, only Spectro Rover significantly benefits from these mechanics. Future updates may expand Elemental Effect utilization.
