Monster Hunter Wilds: Seasons and Weather Details Unveiled

Author : Joshua Apr 12,2025

Seasons and weather introduce dynamic variables to the gameplay of *Monster Hunter Wilds* in the Forbidden Lands, impacting not just the visuals but also how you approach the game. Here's a comprehensive guide on how seasons and weather work in *Monster Hunter Wilds*.

Monster Hunter Wilds Seasons, Explained

Monster Hunter Wilds

*Monster Hunter Wilds* features two distinct seasons that govern the weather in the Forbidden Lands: Fallow and Plenty. The game begins in the Fallow season, characterized by a harsh environment with severe weather events and scarce resources. This scarcity leads to heightened aggression among monsters, who are more likely to engage in combat with each other, making your hunts more challenging.

In contrast, the Plenty season offers a more welcoming environment with warmer weather and an abundance of flora, resulting in a visually vibrant landscape. During this season, smaller monsters are less aggressive and less likely to travel in groups. The abundance of Endemic Life and plants during Plenty makes it a favored time for both the villagers and players of *Monster Hunter Wilds*.

Between these seasons, you'll encounter short, intense weather events known as Inclemency. These events heighten the weather's intensity and set the stage for dramatic battles with Apex Predators. For instance, during the Pinnacle of the Pack Assignment, you'll face the Alpha Doshaguma in the midst of Sandtide, a fierce sandstorm accompanied by lightning. These unique weather events add an extra layer of challenge and excitement to your encounters with Apex Predators throughout the game.

To keep track of the current season and weather in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, you can use the game's HUD and map. The HUD displays icons indicating the time of day and current season in the bottom left corner. For more detailed insights, access the map and press the prompted button to view the Environment Overview, which provides comprehensive information on the prevailing weather and season.

Additionally, Optional Quests in *Monster Hunter Wilds* are set in specific times and seasons, temporarily transporting you to those conditions regardless of the current season in the main game.

How To Change the Season and Weather in Monster Hunter Wilds

Given the significant impact of seasons on the flora and fauna in the Forbidden Lands, you might find it advantageous to switch between Fallow and Plenty depending on your hunting needs. Fortunately, *Monster Hunter Wilds* allows you to change the season and weather.

To do this, set up your tent and choose to rest. Navigate to the BBQ Menu, then select Rest, where you can adjust the Environment and Time settings for when your Hunter wakes up. Keep in mind that resting incurs a cost of 300 Guild Points and is only available to High Rank Hunters. Also, you cannot rest during an active quest.

That covers everything you need to know about the seasons and weather in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Understanding and utilizing these elements can significantly enhance your gameplay experience.

*Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.*
