According to Remedy's annual report, Control 2 has successfully moved past the concept validation stage and is now in full production. This milestone marks significant progress for the project, indicating that it is on track for further development.
In addition to Control 2, Remedy is actively working on two other projects: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. These games were in the preparation phase for production a year ago but have now advanced to the next stage of development. However, the project Kestrel, which was a collaboration with Tencent, has been canceled and removed from the studio's plans since May of last year.
All these projects are being developed using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has proven its effectiveness in previous titles such as Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy games.
Regarding budgets, Control 2 has an estimated budget of 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and is slated for release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. FBC: Firebreak has a slightly lower budget of 30 million euros and will be available on PlayStation and Xbox subscription services at launch, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 keep their budget under wraps, but they are confirmed to be AAA-level games. Development and marketing for these remakes are fully funded by Rockstar Games.
