Techland is taking *Dying Light 2* to new heights with the introduction of Tower Raid, an exhilarating roguelite-inspired mode that promises unpredictable gameplay and intense survival challenges. After a thorough testing phase last year, this eagerly awaited feature has now been fully integrated into the game, providing players with a novel way to navigate the zombie-infested world.
In Tower Raid, players don't play as Aiden Caldwell. Instead, they can choose from one of four unique warriors, each representing a different combat archetype: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist. These classes come with their own set of abilities, encouraging varied playstyles and strategic cooperation. For thrill-seekers looking for an even greater challenge, the mode allows players to decrease their team size or brave the tower's perils solo.
The mode offers three difficulty settings—Quick, Normal, and Elite—each affecting the intensity and duration of the gameplay. Every run is procedurally generated, ensuring that no two tower ascents are ever the same. Players must adapt to constantly changing floor layouts and dynamic enemy encounters to survive.
To maintain engagement, Techland has implemented a fresh progression system where each unsuccessful attempt unlocks new abilities and weapons, enhancing the player's chances in subsequent runs. Within the tower, players can meet Sola, a mysterious merchant who trades rare items like the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol to those adept enough to earn them.
Even as Techland gears up for the release of *Dying Light: The Beast*, they remain dedicated to enriching *Dying Light 2* throughout 2025. Planned updates include enhanced co-op mechanics, improved matchmaking, a broader community map integration, new characters for Tower Raid, additional melee and ranged weapons, a new weapon class, enhancements to the prologue, and significant graphical and technical upgrades.
