The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.
In a recent interview, Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged this, highlighting gameplay and monster hunting as areas needing significant enhancement. He stated directly: “We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience.”
Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer should showcase the impactful and powerful nature of monster encounters, focusing on refined choreography and emotional intensity.
Expect a substantial combat overhaul in Witcher 4. Reassuringly, CD Projekt Red (CDPR) recognizes the shortcomings of previous Witcher titles' combat and is actively addressing them. These improvements will likely carry over to future installments, especially considering Ciri's central role in the upcoming trilogy.
Furthermore, developers plan to incorporate Triss's wedding into the game. Originally envisioned for Novigrad in Witcher 3's "Ashen Marriage" quest, the storyline depicts Triss's affection for Castello and her desire for a swift marriage. Geralt's role in this narrative involves monster extermination, procuring alcohol, and selecting a wedding gift.
