Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled his upcoming RTS-lite game, Battledom, currently in Alpha testing. This title serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's 2020 hit, Herodom, and represents roughly two years of part-time development. Frenken describes Battledom as a closer realization of his original vision for Herodom.
Battledom features flexible RTS battle mechanics. Players command units across the map, directly targeting enemies and manually operating siege weapons. Strategic formation options enhance gameplay.
Players generate units using in-game currency. Initially, units possess basic weaponry and lack armor. However, players can customize units by equipping them with crafted weapons and armor, impacting stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.
Resource gathering is key. Players collect resources like wood, leather, and coal within their village to craft equipment at various workshops, including the blacksmith and magician.
Frenken's previous title, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. It features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks cosmetic options and farm enhancements.
iOS users can participate in the Battledom Alpha via TestFlight. For updates and further information, follow Sander Frenken on X (formerly Twitter) or Reddit, or explore his other games on the App Store.
